Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using FactRefresh ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Account Registration

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.

3. Permitted Use

The Service is designed for reviewing and updating business slide decks against publicly reported developments. You may not use the Service for any unlawful purpose, to transmit malware, or to abuse the platform's resources.

4. Subscription & Payment

Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are not provided for partial months.

5. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all files you upload. FactRefresh does not claim any rights over your content. The Service, its software, its built-in analysis packs, and its branding are the property of FactRefresh.

6. File Retention and Your Deck Content

The file you upload is not retained. It is read into memory, its text is extracted, and the original file is not written to storage. The extracted text is kept for as long as the project exists, because the review screen displays it, and is deleted when you delete the project or your account.

We do not read your decks, we do not train models on them, and we do not use them to improve the Service. The Privacy Policy sets out this commitment in full, along with the third parties that necessarily receive deck content in order to analyse it.

7. Analysis Packs

An analysis pack is the vocabulary the Service uses to research your deck. You may use our built-in packs, edit a copy of one, or generate a new pack from a description you write. Generating a pack consumes credits from your plan at the rate shown before you confirm it.

A generated pack is built from the description you write, not from your deck. You own the packs you create and they are private to your account. If you choose to tick "Allow this pack to be used to improve FactRefresh", you grant us a non-exclusive licence to view that pack and its description and to use them to improve our built-in packs. That licence covers the pack only, never your deck content, and you may withdraw it at any time in the pack's settings.

Built-in packs have been measured against our own test decks. A pack you edit or generate has not been, and we make no representation about how well it will perform.

8. AI-Generated Content

The suggestions provided by FactRefresh are generated by AI models and web search results. They may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all suggestions before incorporating them into your work.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support.

10. Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. FACTREFRESH SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ireland.

12. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
